At Russia Arms EXPO 2013 (RAE 2013), the IX International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment, and Ammunition, ASTAIS JSC will present an armored multipurpose personnel transportation module mounted on KAMAZ chassis.
Developed in Naberezhnye Chelny, the module is fitted with life protection systems and armor to protect its occupants to Russian class V (state standard 50963-96), which guarantees protection from aimed fire from SVD sniper rifle and Kalashnikov assault rifle at ranges from 5 to 10 meters.
The module, codenamed MM-501, is made of АЗ steel (similar to 44 steel), capable of withstanding at least 5 hits within a 30x30 mm area, and has bulletproof-glass windows. Circular emergency escape hatches are installed on the roof. Total capacity is 14 people, and the platform takes no more than 30 minutes to mount and dismount.
Air filtering, ventilation and conditioning system is optional.
ASTAIS JSC, founded in 1989, is one of the biggest KAMAZ dealers, specializing in development and construction of special vehicles on truck chassis.
