Arms expo in 3D

Russia Arms EXPO 2013 (RAE 2013), the IX International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment, and Ammunition  to become the world's first fair to feature a live 3D broadcast of military demonstration program.
All people whose computers, smart phones, and TVs support the 3D technology will be able to receive a high-quality three-dimensional image online from the battle demonstrations, taking place at the show. There you can also find a 4K 3D infomercial about the latest "Uralvagonzavod" products. The 4K format has up to four times the resolution of traditional Full-HD systems that are now considered standard for high definition resolution.
Visitors of the Exhibition will also have a chance to enjoy another technological innovation - latest Glasses-free 3D monitors will be placed throughout the exhibition halls and the stands, allowing all visitors to see the 3D footage. The monitors are built around the so-called lenticular graphics technology that provides a comfortable viewing of 3D images without glasses even at acute angles. It will be the first time in Russia that a 3D live internet broadcast will be combined with a transmission on Glasses-free 3D monitors.
Russia Arms EXPO 2013 is taking place at the Nizhniy Tagil State Demonstration and Exhibition Center of Armaments and Military Equipment of the Nizhniy Tagil Metal Testing Institute (NTIIM). Over a period of four days, participants and visitors of the Exhibition will see the latest and greatest achievements of Russia's defense industry along with the most advanced examples of international military equipment. In general, RAE 2013 will outline a full picture of the priorities, achievements, and future potential of not only Russia's, but the world's defense industry.

RAE 2013: Terminator-2 – World Premiere

A world premiere will take place on the first day of the 9th International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment and Ammunition - Russia Arms EXPO 2013 (RAE 2013) on September 25, 2013. Research and Production Corporation URALVAGONZAVOD will present its latest design – Tank Support Fighting Vehicle BMPT-72.

BMPT-72 is a breakthrough modernization of the world-famous URALVAGONZAVOD T-72 tank. When designing BMPT-72, engineers relied on experience of creation and exploitation of BMPT, also known as Terminator for its gun power.
Just as its basic model, Terminator-2 is a multipurpose tank and infantry fire support vehicle that can operate in any combat mode, complicated geographic area, light conditions and against any enemy. Still, it has some new features: upgraded fire-control system and turret weapon station protection.
The breakthrough vehicle is built on the platform of the most widely manufactured and used T-72 tank. Given that, the key advantage that BMPT-72 gives to all the counties that operate T-72 tanks, is that they can promptly and at minimum cost upgrade their armies to ultra-modern level, enhance its capacity, mobility, protection and armament without purchasing new high cost machines.
Terminator-2 is to premiere in a multimedia lightshow at a 900 m2 presentation centre built especially for that purpose. Foreign visitors and official delegation are expected to attend the presentation. 

Combining on a Global Basis

Organizers have released a detailed agenda of the top event of the year in the defense industry, Russia Arms EXPO 2013 (RAE 2013), the IX International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment, and Ammunition, which is taking place September 25-28 in Nizhniy Tagil. 

For the first time at an international exhibition of this level, the agenda will feature a special set of activities aimed at discussing international legal aspects of the defense market. Organizers plan to involve in those discussions top Russian and international experts in international security, political scientists, and top officials from the UN and other international organizations. 

Besides, like before, the focus of RAE-2013 will rest on issues specific to the military industry. On this track, the discussion will touch upon issues such as modernization of Russia's defense industry production facilities, financing the state order, developing the talent pool for the industry, utilizing private-public partnership in the development of new-generation military hardware, and so on. The plenary session will focus on implementation peculiarities of the Federal Targeted Program for Defense Industry Reformation in 2011—2020 and the issue of innovations in the defense industry. Other subjects on the agenda include the 2020 State Armaments Program and its potential impact on the new look of Russia's armed forced. Experts will also discuss ways of cooperation with international producers of military hardware and high-tech equipment. 

Separate lectures and seminars in the military-industry block of the RAE-2013 agenda will be devoted to specific issues of tank construction and UAV design, military personnel protection, energy efficiency and sustainability in military production, procurements, peculiarities of investing in defense industry, and others. 

The international legal block at RAE-2013, focused on ways of maintaining peace, preventing military conflicts, and boosting state control over armament exports, will consist of two exert discussions. The first one, titled International Peace and Security: the Philosophy of Crisis Response, will deal with the subject of international security, including the Responsibility to Protect initiative, as well as preventive diplomacy, and the role of peacekeeping missions organized without bias and guided by humanitarian principles. 

The other part, named Global Arms Market: the Outline of Fair Trade, will gather together experts who are interested in the strengthening of relevant international regimes and abolishing one-sided sanctions against military product manufacturers as an instrument of unfair competition, and who are ready to discuss openly the national practice of arms exports and international legal norms in this sphere. 

"The combination of military-industrial and international-legal blocks on the RAE-2013 agenda shows the multifaceted nature of the event, which manages to be of military, industrial, academic, and international political nature at the same time", says Alexei Zharich, Chief Communications Officer at Uralvagonzavod, the General Coordinator of the exhibition. In his opinion, all of the above will further add to the growth of the Nizhniy Tagil exhibition as a truly global event.

Personnel Protection above All

SBA-62 special-purpose armored vehicle will be among the exhibits brought by Zaschita Corporation to Russia Arms EXPO 2013 (RAE 2013), the IX International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment, and Ammunition. The vehicle is designed to transport personnel and cargo in all climates and on all terrains.

Armored to ensure high level of protection per GOST 50963-96 (cabin – class 5, armored module – class 6), the SBA-62 withstands the blast of an F-1 hand grenade beneath and on the roof and carries armor-protected fuel tanks and batteries. The armored module can be padded to protect its occupants against spall and ricochets. It has bulletproof windows with built-in firing ports for troops riding inside.

Based on the KAMAZ-43118 chassis, the SBA-62 comes in two versions: an 18-seat armored module with two hinged doors in the front and one hinged door in the rear, and a 20-seat armored module with two hinged doors in the rear. A separate heater, an air conditioner, and a ventilation and gas extraction system ensure comfort in the cabin.
